Direct mechanical anchoring in concrete
THE by INDEX is a concrete screw anchor installed in a pre-drilled hole. During installation, its thread cuts into the concrete and forms a mechanical interlock with the base material. The anchor is installed directly, without a plastic plug or injection resin.
The hexagon head with an integral flange transfers installation torque and bears against the fixture. THE identifies the INDEX product range.
Subject to the anchorage design, an appropriate configuration can secure brackets, mounting plates, racks, railings and structural components to concrete. Selection must account for loads, base material and environmental conditions.
Material and coating
- Material
- Carbon steel
- Coating
- ATLANTIS C3-H
ATLANTIS C3-H is the manufacturer’s coating designation. Material and coating describe different product properties; the coating is neither a bolt property class nor blanket permission for use in any environment.
Use of carbon steel THE under the ETA described below is limited to dry internal conditions. This scope must also be respected when selecting a configuration with ATLANTIS C3-H coating.
THE size overview
The first column shows the nominal drill bit diameter d0, not the actual outer thread diameter. The second column lists the specific catalogue lengths L in millimetres and manufacturer product codes; SW is the spanner size.

The overview lists catalogue sizes, not current JENPEX stock. Availability will be confirmed upon enquiry. Installation parameters depend on the selected configuration and embedment depth.
Example enquiry: 8 × 100 mm – THE08100. This size designation does not specify a metric thread. Catalogue screw lengths are not embedment depths.
Fixture clearance hole diameter df, fixture thickness tfix, overall embedment depth hnom, effective embedment depth hef and drill hole depth h1 are separate parameters. For the same screw length, permissible tfix can change with the selected embedment depth. Determine the exact installation configuration using the applicable ETA and technical data sheet.
Technical assessment and conditions of use
European Technical Assessment ETA-20/0046, version 9 dated 29 May 2026, provides the assessment basis for the listed THE sizes with drill bit diameters of 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 mm. It applies to reinforced or unreinforced normal-weight concrete without fibres, classes C20/25 to C50/60, cracked or uncracked, subject to the conditions in the relevant annexes.
Seismic categories C1/C2 apply only to the marked diameter and embedment combinations in Annex B1 of ETA-20/0046, using the parameters in Annexes C11–C13. Fire assessment depends on the specific configuration and design under the relevant annexes; it does not provide one uniform fire load capacity for the entire range.
Use in hollow-core slabs, stone or another base material is not automatically covered by the same assessment.
Design must account for loads, concrete condition and class, member thickness, edge distances and anchor spacing, reinforcement and embedment depth. This product page does not replace structural anchorage design.
Installation and removal
- Select the size and installation configuration. Check d0, h1, hnom, fixture thickness and joint geometry against the design and documentation.
- Drill and prepare the hole. Use the specified drill bit, rotary hammer drilling and required depth. Clean the hole as instructed; an alternative preparation method is permissible only under the exact documented conditions for that configuration.
- Install the screw through the fixture. Use the correct socket size and suitable installation equipment. Respect the permitted tool and installation torque limits. Maximum permitted torque is not a universal target torque.
- Check the completed installation. The head must bear correctly against the fixture and remain undamaged. Verify embedment depth and the manufacturer’s criteria for a completed installation.
Removal does not mean permission to reinstall. The screw can be unscrewed, but installation under the stated ETA is permitted only once. The same screw is therefore not offered for repeated use in anchorage covered by these assessments.
This block is an overview. Follow the manufacturer’s complete installation instructions for the specific size.
